I have to thank Julian Coultas for reminding me about this great tool to make printing from the iPad a complete breeze.
Printopia is an app for your Mac (a PC alternative called Fingerprint is available – more info). Once installed on your computer,it allows you to share any printers connected to your Mac with iOS devices like iPads, iPhones and iPod touches. It also allows you to print pdf documents right to your Mac, and can also print to Dropbox and Evernote…
As Julian demonstrated during his workshop at BETT, this allows students to print documents to the teachers laptop. Installed on a central computer in your school, it could allow students with iPads to print to any printer on your network.
Printopia costs a very reasonable $19.95 and is a very useful tool, making it quick and easy to collect work from a whole variety of apps as pdf documents on a teachers laptop, or share network printers to your student or teacher’s iPads.
